Heritage meets modern within this 1930s Queenslander, blending contemporary family living with the beautiful character and detail of the original home. The brief was to create a contemporary extension that felt completely connected to the existing home. Havwoods’ Waterford plank provides continuity between the two, with its soft-washed tones and natural variation complementing the existing oak and warm interior palette. Carried from the floor into the staircase, bench seating and study nook, the timber creates the sense of connection, ensuring there was no obvious distinction between existing and new.
