A thoughtful transformation of a 19th-century industrial building into a civic and innovation hub, The Boot Factory showcases how heritage can be preserved through smart, design-led adaptation. A standout feature is the “Cloud Room”, a dramatic space crowned by a truncated pyramid roof and central skylight. This bold architectural intervention replaces the original valley gutter, flooding the interior with daylight and creating a striking sense of openness and clarity. Throughout the space, Havwoods Blackbutt from the Australian Collection was selected for its durability and seamless alignment with the project’s ethos of heritage authenticity while complementing the cohesive material palette.
