REACHING AND TEACHING THROUGH RECORDS cordings have the advantage in that they may b e ' heard repeatedly, en abling the listener to make the mes sage his own. A particular truth may be selected to fit the momentary need. Such recordings are also especially adaptable to use as a means of testi mony to neighbors and friends who may be guests in the home.” In using this important dimension of communication, Dr. Smith ex plains further, “ There are many who ordinarily refuse an invitation to at tend a church, such as those who are of the Jewish faith. Often, however, they will listen to an informative and stimulating recorded message while in the friendly atmosphere of a Christian home. Frequently a con cerned believer will purchase a good Bible study book for an unsaved or new Christian friend. A record can be more appreciated since it can be put to much quicker use.” The purpose of the first album, which has now been produced and is available, is to stimulate interest in personal Bible investigation by ex plaining some of the problems from which casual readers have turned aside, and by reducing difficult theo logical terms to every-day language. Questions which are simply answered are, “Why Read the Bible?” , “How to Read the Bible,” and “ How to Un derstand the Bible.” The origin, de sign and purpose of the Bible are also discussed as a basic background for the listener. Other albums which are projected for the future are “ The Harmony of the Old and New Testaments” (espe cially adaptable to the interests and spiritual needs of Jewish people), “ How to Communicate Your Bible Knowledge to Others,” “ Answers to Difficult Bible Questions,” and “ Bible Prophecies and Their Fulfillment.” Since “ faith cometh by hearing,” the project would seem to fill a real gap in the ministry, testimony and outreach of believers amid a day when a positive stand for Christ cer tainly needs to be taken.

Smith, wondered why the same tech niques could not be applied to one of the neediest areas of life today: the study of the Bible. While there are recordings available of messages and sermons by outstanding pastors and Bible teachers, very little has been produced which will challenge the
