14. ABILITY TO COMMUNICATE – The Ability to Communicate of Eleanor Roosevelt
AFTERWORD Because she stood for human rights, it was important to Eleanor to effectively get her ideas across to others. More than that, she worked to achieve great things not just for herself but for the bet- terment of all humankind. This was her natural idealism in action. With her words and ability to make friends easily she knew how to motivate people and help them get ahead. That is to say, she com- bined and put to use her inborn outgoingness and persuasion . She used her innate ability to judge to evaluate the beliefs of others on an open-minded, unprejudiced basis. This brought about under- standing and agreement with those she worked with. Review her story and see how her enterprise and courage helped her succeed. Undoubtedly, she expected far more of herself than of others. This is patience , something you have within you and will learn more about in the next story.
“ If you can’t communicate and talk to other people and get across your ideas, you’re giving up your potential.” – Warren Buffet
