A UJ ALUMNUS TRANSFORMING COMMUNITIES THROUGH EDUCATION AND EMPOWERMENT

Sisinde Survival Skills (www.sisinde.co.za) is another groundbreaking programme that Mungalee established to equip youth with practical survival knowledge. From bushcraft to basic first aid, participants are immersed in hands-on experiences designed to build resilience, confidence, and self-reliance. Many of these young individuals come from challenging backgrounds, and this programme gives them the tools they need to thrive in the face of adversity. Addressing food insecurity: Dijo Tsa Batho Bohle Recognising the growing issue of food insecurity, Mungalee launched Dijo Tsa Batho Bohle (Food for Everyone), a community farming initiative aimed at promoting sustainable agriculture. This project: (sites.google.com/dadooprimaryschool.com/ dijotsabathobothle/home) empowers community members with the knowledge and tools necessary to grow their own food, fostering self-sufficiency and resilience. By focusing on vulnerable families, Dijo Tsa Batho Bohle ensures that they have consistent access to fresh, nutritious food, addressing both immediate needs and providing long- term solutions through education and sustainable practices.
