As per THE CITY OF MACKINAC ISLAND THE CITY OF MACKINAC ISLAND and MACKINAC STATE HISTORIC PARKS E-BIKES are NOT PERMITTED on Mackinac Island, with the following exception:

Only qualified persons with a mobility disability may bring and use a Class-1, non-throttled electric bicycle to the Island. No other class of E-Bikes are allowed on the Island No throttled E-Bikes, regardless of mobility issues, are allowed on the Island. No E-Bikes with top assisted speeds over 20-mph are allowed.

Swamp Trail and Croghan’s Water Trail also offer technical terrain that will chal- lenge the most daring mountain bikers. Information Booth located across from the Arnold Transit Main Dock. Remember, no matter how lost you think you might be, all trails eventually lead back to the shoreline or to town. It’s a small Island so you can’t get too lost. Some of the best memories of your visit to Mackinac will be the excellent time you’ll have riding bikes. REMEMBER : ALWAYS Stay to the right side of the road or trail, always use a light at night and as a reminder horses, carriages and pedestrians always have the right-of-way over bikes.
