After 30 some years of public auction selling bulls, in 2016 we had a female dispersion of 100 plus 3 to 8-year-old cows keeping our heifer calves, bred heifers and 9-yr-old cows and older. From those first calf heifers and older cows kept, we had an excellent set of bulls to offer private treaty for 2017. Four years ago I had an individual want 100 registered cows. He purchased some in 2016, plus purchased bulls from us for years. We agreed on a price and ages 3 to 8-year-old plus a few good horned cows. My final question to him; “When are you coming to pick them?” “I’m not”. My response, “What do you mean you’re not?” “You are going to pick them for me.” “Whoa!” Yes, more discussion and yes, I picked 100 cows for him.
