Colby Community College Test Bull Sale [3/20/26]

Welcome to the Colby Community College 2026 Annual Bull Test and Sale! First off, thank you for your support of CCC First off, thank you for your support of CCC Beef Production Program, students, and consignors! This sale offers more than quality cattle with a solid genetic founda- tion; it also provides buyers with valuable information most sales cannot offer. At the CCC Beef Unit, we utilize GrowSafe Systems, Vytelle Sense, to collect essential animal feed and water intake data. GrowSafe allows us to gain more accurate information on how efficient our cattle are individually. This data is vital when faced with drought conditions when we must be more conservative with feed to decrease production costs. With persistent drought conditions, raising durable and efficient animals becomes critical and saves the producer money. CCC is uniquely positioned to provide specific efficiency data from the broad scope of breeds represented. Each consignor was allotted 3 bulls to enter into the Growsafe pens due to space limitations. The majority of the yearling bulls remain on the Growsafe System from the time they arrive in early November until they leave the CCC Beef Unit. In addition to providing producers with added efficiency data, the bull test allows students interested in the beef industry to gain valuable hands-on experience. CCC students are responsible for every aspect of the bull test and sale, from initially receiving the consignor bulls until they walk into the sale ring. This is a straightforward practice of the College’s Mission, which is to: Challenge students to adapt to a diverse society. Create opportunities for student growth. Connect student learning with professional experiences. By communicating directly with producers and other industry professionals, CCC students develop meaningful profession- al relationships and better understand what they will experience in their agricultural careers. With society drifting further away from agriculture, it becomes even more crucial for technical programs such as the CCC Beef Production Program to teach the next generation the importance of sustainable agriculture for the future. We look forward to seeing you on sale day, March 20th! Thank you in advance for your support, guidance, and business. Please visit the CCC Beef Unit, 2002 County Road 23, Colby KS 67701, at your convenience or view videos posted on our DVAuction page to preview cattle ahead of sale day! I appreciate your support of CCC Beef Production students, the Annual Bull Test and Sale, our consignors, and the institu- tion as a whole!

Adalaide Kline Beef Program Director Colby Community College

2026 CCC Beef Production Students

I have been thankful for my time and hands-on experiences at Colby Community College in the Beef Production Program. It has been both enjoyable and beneficial to my future to receive real- world experience, while still being in school and having guidance along the way. Colby has broadened my skillsets by expanding on skills I already had as well as teaching me new ones. Being this year’s Bull Sale Manger I have gotten the opportunity to commu- nicate with consignors and help answer any questions they may have. I am very excited about this year’s lineup of cattle we will be selling and cannot wait to see you all in person at the CCC Bull Sale. Lakoddah Downes Bull Sale Manager
