2.4.1 RATIONALITY Rationality implies that critical thinking depends on logic rather than emotion and it is evidence– based.
2.4.2 SELF–AWARENESS
Self–awareness has to do with: • Knowledge of personal motivations and biases. • Recognition of assumptions, prejudices and special points of view.
2.4.3 HONESTY
Critical thinking requires individuals to have moral integrity in identifying their strengths and weaknesses to prevent their emotions from influencing their critical thinking process. 2.4.4 OPEN MINDEDNESS
Open mindedness is perceived in terms of: • Evaluating all evidence based on reasonable grounds. • Taking into account various possible views. • Recognizing alternative interpretations of information. • Accepting and appreciating new interpretations. • Appreciating the perceptions of others.
2.4.5 DISCIPLINE
A well–thought out critical thinking process leads you to: • Accuracy, comprehensiveness, investigation and attention to details. • Non–manipulation of data. • Avoidance of quick judgments on things without verification.
