JUDGEMENT AND DECISION MAKING

Activity: Answer individually and share with the group. 1. Would you rather study a subject you love, or sign up for an easy-A course that you don’t really enjoy? 2. Would you rather share your creative ideas in front of a group and risk criticism, or stay quiet and keep them to yourself? 3. Would you rather solve a campus-related issue on your own, or coordinate with a team to solve it–even if it takes longer? 4. Would you rather give honest critical feedback on your friend’s presentation, or stay quiet to avoid hurting their feelings? 5. Would you rather change your major for better job prospects, or stick with your pas- sion regardless of income? 6. Would you rather work with close friends you know well, or collaborate with new teammates for a fresh and new perspective?

6.1 DEFINITION Decision making is a mental process that leads to the selection of an appropriate action among several possible alternatives.
