Gorey Harbour
A Journey Around Jersey Jersey is the perfect destination for a British holiday with a slightly continental feel, being so close to France. Measuring only five miles by nine, Jersey’s size makes it ideal for touring and our itinerary features a full day tour of the island along with visits to some of the island’s most famous attractions. SUGGESTED ITINERARY On arrival in Jersey, we are transferred by coach to our hotel. Day 2 Full Day Tour of Jersey including La Hougue Bie Today, we embark on a full day step-on guided tour of the island, visiting St Aubin’s Bay, St Brelade’s Bay, Corbière Lighthouse, St Ouen’s Bay, Grève de Lecq Barracks and Gorey Harbour. During our tour, we will visit the Neolithic passage grave at La Hougue Bie, home to one of the 10 oldest buildings in the world! Day 3 St Helier We enjoy a day at leisure to explore St Helier - take a stroll along the Esplanade and visit the many attractions, including Elizabeth Castle (via the causeway at low tide and boat at high tide. A small additional charge applies for the boat), the Jersey Museum and the Maritime Museum. Day 4 Hamptonne Country Life Museum & Wartime Jersey 4 Night Stays Day 1 Arrival This morning, we visit the Hamptonne Country Life Museum, giving us a wonderful insight into a rural way of life in Jersey that has carried on for centuries. We then head to the Jersey War Time Tunnels, built during the German occupation of the island in WWII. These intricate tunnels are over 1,000m long, so some walking is needed, but the terrain is flat. Day 5 Departure After breakfast, we make our way home. For 7 Night Stays, the remainder of the tour is as follows: Day 5 Taste of Jersey We relax at leisure this morning before enjoying a guided tour of La Mare Wine Estate in the afternoon. Producing wine, gin, vodka, chocolate, jams and baked goods, we enjoy our tour with tastings, finishing off with a Jersey cream tea. Days 6 & 7 St Helier or Optional Excursion We can choose how we spend the next two days, perhaps with an optional excursion, spending a bit longer at one of the sites we saw on day 2, enjoying some tax free shopping in St Helier, or simply relaxing at our chosen hotel and embracing the Jersey vibe. Day 8 Departure After breakfast, we begin our journey home.
