3 Day Royal Explorer The Household Cavalry Museum, Buckingham Palace & the Changing of the Guard PACKAGED ITINERARY Day 1 Arrival & The Household Cavalry Museum Before going to our hotel, we have an early afternoon visit to The Household Cavalry Museum housed within one of the city’s most historic buildings. A living museum, it comes alive with compelling personal stories and first-hand accounts of the rigorous training regime. We later check in to our hotel. Day 2 Buckingham Palace & Changing of the Guard After breakfast we make our way to Buckingham Palace in time to see the mid-morning Changing of the Guard ceremony . Watch in wonder as the precision drills and music light up the morning as the King’s Guards change over. Afterwards, we have ample time to explore inside Buckingham Palace , one of the few working royal palaces in the world. All rooms are furnished with many great treasures from the Royal Collection. The rest of the day is at leisure, perhaps take a stroll in nearby St James’s Park and see the pelicans or find a nice spot for late lunch. Day 3 At Leisure & Departure After breakfast we have free time to explore locally, before we begin our journey home.

Before going to our hotel, we have an early afternoon visit to the incomparable Kensington Palace . Previously home to Queen Victoria and Princess Diana and currently the official London residence of the Prince and Princess of Wales, we can marvel at the opulence of the State rooms, imagining ourselves walking in those famous footsteps. After time to see the sunken garden, we check-in to our hotel for the evening. Day 2 Buckingham Palace, Royal Mews & Afternoon Tea After breakfast we make our way to Buckingham Palace where we have the morning to explore the magnificent 19 State Rooms used for ceremonial occasions and official entertaining. Our next stop is the Royal Mews , home to the historic royal carriages and coaches, the most dazzling of all being the Gold State Coach, which has been used at every coronation since George IV in 1821. After such a feast of all things royal, it’s time to fill ourselves up with an afternoon tea at the Strand Palace Hotel, after all, we deserve it! Day 3 At Leisure & Departure After breakfast we have free time to explore locally, before we begin our journey home.
