UK 2024

Welcome to England At Albatross Travel, we pride ourselves on the knowledge and experience of our Contract Managers and their understanding of coach group travel. It’s true to say that they live and breathe their areas and have a real passion for creating innovative and varied products. Introducing Mark Cocks, Senior Contract Manager & Destination Specialist Mark says… “I have looked to maintain our programme in hotels that continue to deliver well for groups and enable operators to trust us to look after their passengers. Furthermore, it is really motivating for me to see a new programme develop, gain interest and ultimately deliver excellent feedback. In these challenging times for our industry, our human values come to the fore.” Mark recommends… “We have a few new products featured in the brochure this year, with highlight hotels for me being two beautiful properties. These are The Angel Hotel in Bury St Edmunds (page 103) , with its stunning location opposite the cathedral, history and beautiful interior, and the Wensum Valley Hotel & Golf Club (page 105) , a property that consistently delivers well for groups and has benefitted from continuous investment from its longstanding owners.” Introducing Janine Cuff, Head of Contracting & Destination Specialist Janine says… “Based in Derbyshire, I contract the majority of the Northern England products that we feature. For 2024, along with the popular, tried and tested hotels and packages we offer, I have refreshed many of our itineraries.” Janine recommends… “With limited hotels for groups in Derbyshire due to exclusive contracts, we are delighted to offer two new Peak District tours (pages 116- 117) featuring new group attractions such as the magnificent Buxton Crescent Experience. Our two hotels are based in Sheffield, just outside the Peak District National Park (just 15.4 miles away!). With over a third of the city within the boundary of the National Park, it’s the perfect base for exploring my home county. On page 129, the Park House Hotel in Blackpool ticks all the group boxes when it comes to a family-run hotel – a seaside hotel you can trust where all guests are treated as individuals, with live entertainment and bingo every night! Finally, take a peek at pages 121-122 which highlight what’s on offer in and around the UK’s unofficial ‘second city’ – magnificent Manchester , the gateway to the North!” Introducing Robert Ramsay, Contract Manager & Destination Specialist Rob recommends… “For our updated Historic Black Country & Gorge-ous Shropshire tour on pages 112-113 , we now offer the option of two hotels I visited recently – the Mercure Telford is very groups focused and has ample lounge areas, and the Telford Hotel Spa & Golf Resort provides rural calm. We also offer a choice of two hotels for our updated The Home of Shakespeare tour on page 100 . The Crowne Plaza Stratford-upon- Avon has magnificent public areas and a spacious lounge facing the River Avon, and the DoubleTree by Hilton is centrally located in this famous market town.” Introducing Anneka Board, Contract Manager & Destination Specialist Anneka says… “I am delighted to look after some of our Southern England tours as, living here, I have a strong passion for, and knowledge of, the area. I love the diversity our country has to offer – from the quaint English seaside to beautiful scenic countryside and historical towns, you can experience so much in a short distance, so what better time to do so when we have so many itineraries to choose from.” Anneka recommends… “We have repeated many of our popular and best-selling itineraries for 2024. On page 86 we have created a new tour, Botanics, Boleyn & Bluebell Railway , where you can experience some of the highlights that West Kent and Sussex have to offer. The itinerary includes a castle, gardens, railway – complete with a cream tea, of course – and the chance to see wild deer. You won’t be saying “oh deer” on this tour!”
