We spend time exploring the Abbey’s remains before visiting the craft and antique shops. We then admire the views from Symonds Yat before returning to our hotel. Day 3 Chepstow & Dean Forest Railway Today we start with a visit to imposing Chepstow Castle . After exploring the town we travel to Norchard and the Dean Forest Railway . We have time to visit the museum and be shown around the locomotive restoration shed before a return journey on a steam or heritage diesel train through 8.5 miles of the medieval Forest of Dean. Day 4 Black & White Villages Today, we drive north into Herefordshire to visit the famous Black & White villages of Weobley, Pembridge and Leominster. These delightful medieval villages have some of the prettiest half-timbered buildings in the land and sit in the midst of tranquil orchards and farmland. Combine the locations with an array of art galleries, cosy pubs and tearooms and it feels like we have stepped back in time. We have time to enjoy our surroundings before returning to our hotel.
