The next generation of talent in Clarence- Rockland’s arts community was on dis- play over the weekend at the AACR Fall Art Show. Maxime Legault began exercising his artistic talent at age 7 and now, at 11, has already had several solo shows in both Clarence-Rockland and Alexandria, and is also taking on commissions from clients entranced with his view of the world. His sources of inspiration range from real-world landscapes and animals to the realms of imagination, like J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter universe. “I love to create,” Legault said about why he paints. “Colours fascinate me.” His preferredmedium is oil because “it’s more precise” and someday he would like to try his hand at doing railway scapes featuring the old-style “IronHorse” steam locomotive.
