St Lawrence College Cricket Week 2025

Cricket at St Lawrence

Cricket at St Lawrence College is in a healthy place and I am pleased that we have lots of talent coming up through the school and more importantly, we have lots of enthusiastic pupils who are enjoying their cricket

Reuben Young-Gadd (Y7) scored an excellent half centuries against Junior King’s Canterbury earlier this term and Rory Fellowes (Y8) scored a brilliant 76 runs against Sutton Valence School.

We continued our cricket exchange programme with St Benedicts College. In January for six weeks, Edward Smith and Max Symes Boarded at Bennies and fully threw themselves into their way of life. Edward played for their 1 XI whilst Max for their 2 XI in regular fixtures. Both pupils also represented the 1st XI and went on a tour which was very enjoyable. Both Edward and Max were fantastic ambassadors for SLC and did us all proud. st nd

We were also delighted to welcome cricket players Matteo Erasmus and Matthew Lewis along with their 1 team cricket coach at St Benedict’s College, Matthew Smit to SLC from April to May. Both boys showcased their talent within the squad with several good performances. Both of these players were presented their Players Caps and played a huge role within a young and developing team. st In January 2026 we will look to send two more cricketers over to South Africa with current Y11 pupils and 1st XI players Jenson Cutts and Tom Ryeland
