During the 2025 Michaelmas Term, we are hosting a girls hockey event and golf event, both which will take place on Friday 12 September. The girls OL hockey will be a 18:00 start on the waterbase located on Newlands Field and the OL golf (venue to be confirmed) will take place at approximately 1pm onwards (more details to follow) th As with the OL event last Lent Term, we will host a curry and drinks evening after the hockey and golf matches. We thoroughly enjoyed seeing so many Old Lawrentians return for boys OL hockey, netball and shooting on Friday 21st March 2025 and we hope this event will be as well participated as then. Reverting back to Cricket Week, it doesn’t just happen overnight. After months of planning, several days building, setting up the marquees and the many gazebos, generous sponsorship from parents and friends of the College and much more, the week has finally arrived. A huge thank you to the Grounds team who do a magnificent job preparing our pitches throughout the cricket season and the whole year in general regardless of the season. Without their efforts, we wouldn’t have pitches to play on. The catering team continue to meet their own high expectations and once again will provide us with a wonderful range of catering this week. The maintenance team often go about their business quietly but they often play a pivotal role in the operational side of Cricket Week. The Domestics team who endlessly provide us with clean facilities in what is an extremely busy week. For all of you, a huge thank you. Lastly, a huge thank you to my Games Department and of course our Head of Cricket, Mr Geraint Jones. After passing the baton over to Mr Jones in 2023, Mr Jones continues to deliver a wonderful and memorable week, which was my intention all the time I ran the cricket. Mr Jones has spent countless hour planning and delivering in what no doubt will be a successful week.
A huge thank you to everyone who has played a role in making this week a success.
