N'KYZIE HAWKINS Mercer University Chapter, the Theta Pi
My name is N’Kyzie Hawkins, a Fall 23 initiate of the Theta Pi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. I am a junior at Mercer University majoring in Journalism with a focus in Sports Broadcasting. I am a sideline reporter for ESPN covering men’s and women’s basketball and on-air talent for two shows here at Mercer: The Mercer Sports Report and Kappa TV. Not only am I the reporter, but I also serve as the creator and producer for these two Mercer-sponsored shows. Upon my initiation into the greatest fraternity known to man, I immediately took action to put my ideas for service into motion. At my first chapter meeting, I was appointed head of philanthropy efforts. In my first month in the organization, I organized a drive that collected baby essentials and women’s hygiene products. I also began a mentoring group at Ballard Hudson Middle School, two minutes from our campus at Mercer. This mentoring group is a precursor for the Junior Kappa League program I am helping start at the school. Along with the mentoring group, I partnered with the broadcast station that I work with here at Mercer to schedule a field trip for the active Media Club at Ballard Hudson Middle. I thoroughly enjoy serving the community and would love to serve The Bond as the Southeastern Province Junior Vice Polemarch.

DUBLIN (GA) ALUMNI CHAPTER The Dublin (GA) Alumni Chapter joined forces with members of Warming Feet for Christ Ministries to provide blankets and socks to residents at Shamrock Nursing Home, ensuring they stay warm during the chilly weather. Arriving with baskets filled with these essential items, the volunteers, led by Alvin Salter, the chairman of the Founders Day Committee for chapter, expressed their commitment to supporting local nursing home residents for the second consecutive year. "We make it a point to visit different nursing homes annually and distribute these items," explained Salter. "The joy of giving back to the community and witnessing the recipients' happiness is truly gratifying. Seeing their smiling faces warms our hearts, especially knowing that some of them lack familial support. Our aim is to ensure everyone is cared for, particularly during the winter season. Providing blankets and socks is a small yet impactful gesture."
