ALUMNI NEWS
DUBLIN (GA) ALUMNI CHAPTER The Dublin (GA) Alumni Chapter joined forces with members of Warming Feet for Christ Ministries to provide blankets and socks to residents at Shamrock Nursing Home, ensuring they stay warm during the chilly weather. Arriving with baskets filled with these essential items, the volunteers, led by Alvin Salter, the chairman of the Founders Day Committee for chapter, expressed their commitment to supporting local nursing home residents for the second consecutive year. "We make it a point to visit different nursing homes annually and distribute these items," explained Salter. "The joy of giving back to the community and witnessing the recipients' happiness is truly gratifying. Seeing their smiling faces warms our hearts, especially knowing that some of them lack familial support. Our aim is to ensure everyone is cared for, particularly during the winter season. Providing blankets and socks is a small yet impactful gesture." The Dublin-Laurens County Black History Festival Community Committee, Inc., selected the Dublin (GA) Alumni Chapter as the 2024 Humanitarian Award Recipient. The selection of the recipient is based solely on one’s contribution to their community in the areas of education and service. The chapter exceeded the bar when the mentioned areas were surveyed!
