ALUMNI NEWS

LAWRENCEVILLE-DULUTH (GA) ALUMNI CHAPTER At the Lawrenceville-Duluth (GA) Alumni Chapter, their commitment to "achievement in every field of human endeavor" is unwavering. In December, the chapter proudly introduce their inaugural "Community Achievement Awardees" to recognize exceptional individuals making remarkable contributions in business, clergy, politics, and education. They embody the spirit of achievement we hold dear. This year’s honorees were: - Nicole Love Hendrickson, Gwinnett County Board of Commissioners Chairwoman - Jennifer Hibbard, CEO View Point Health - Representative Gabe Okoye, GA House of Representatives District 102 - Representative Sam Park, GA House of Representatives District 107 - Nick Masino, President & CEO of the Gwinnett Chamber Their dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to our community have not gone unnoticed. The month of February was a busy one for the chapter. The chapter started the month by showing up to watch Damari Wright, a LDAC Kappa Leaguer, of Meadowcreek HS Varsity Basketball Team against Discovery High School. Damari has committed to Savannah State University. Then members of the chapter volunteered at the Amazing Shake. The Amazing Shake is a dynamic and exciting live competition that rallies leaders and role models in a school's community together to teach students about professional skills for success. Brothers of the chapter also set aside time to celebrate their daughters at their 2024 Daddy/Daughter Luncheon. Not only does the chapter recognize others for achievement, but their chapter is also recognized by others for their achievement. The chapter has been named a 2023 Best of Gwinnett Winner for Civic Organizations! This Award is voted on by the Citizens of Gwinnett County. It has only been achieved by 10% of Civic Organizations in Gwinnett County GA. This honor inspires them to continue our mission of community service and civic engagement. They are grateful for the community’s belief in their cause.
