JUNIOR PROVINCE VICE POLEMARCH
N'KYZIE HAWKINS Mercer University Chapter, the Theta Pi
My name is N’Kyzie Hawkins, a Fall 23 initiate of the Theta Pi Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity Incorporated. I am a junior at Mercer University majoring in Journalism with a focus in Sports Broadcasting. I am a sideline reporter for ESPN covering men’s and women’s basketball and on-air talent for two shows here at Mercer: The Mercer Sports Report and Kappa TV. Not only am I the reporter, but I also serve as the creator and producer for these two Mercer-sponsored shows. Upon my initiation into the greatest fraternity known to man, I immediately took action to put my ideas for service into motion. At my first chapter meeting, I was appointed head of philanthropy efforts. In my first month in the organization, I organized a drive that collected baby essentials and women’s hygiene products. I also began a mentoring group at Ballard Hudson Middle School, two minutes from our campus at Mercer. This mentoring group is a precursor for the Junior Kappa League program I am helping start at the school. Along with the mentoring group, I partnered with the broadcast station that I work with here at Mercer to schedule a field trip for the active Media Club at Ballard Hudson Middle. I thoroughly enjoy serving the community and would love to serve The Bond as the Southeastern Province Junior Vice Polemarch.
