ODELL TAYLOR, JR. Lawrenceville-Duluth (GA) Alumni

Odell Taylor Jr., is the son of Rev. and Mrs. Odell Taylor Sr., where they raised he and his five sisters in Buckatunna, Mississippi. He is a 1995 graduate of the University of Southern Mississippi with a degree in Journalism and a 2004 graduate of the University of Phoenix with a Master of Business Administration and is currently employed with Houghton Mifflin Harcourt as a Segment Director of Intervention overseeing 14 states for the organization. He is a Spring 2000 initiate of the Greenville (MS) Alumni Chapter, and since his time in Georgia has held memberships within the Southeastern Province chapters of College Park (GA) Alumni Chapter, and Lawrenceville- Duluth Alumni Chapter, and currently serves on the SEP Board of Directors as the (GA) Alumni Chapter Board of Member.

Most notably, he had the opportunity to serve as the Polemarch of the Lawrenceville-Duluth Alumni Chapter for four years, and during this administration the chapter experienced tremendous growth in terms of memberships and provincial awards recognition. One main point of emphasis for him is that he initiated the chapters 20K for 20 schools’ scholarship endeavor program which at that time provided a $1,000 scholarship to a deserving African American male student within each of Gwinnett County high schools which still is in place today. Also, during his tenure, the chapter received the Reclamation Award (Large chapter), Large Chapter of the Year award (3 consecutive year), Guide Right Directors awards.

DR. JAMES MUNFORD Bishopville-Manning-Shaw AFB (SC) Alumni

Dr. James Munford is a native of Philadelphia, PA, and a 1991 initiate of the Colorado Springs (CO) Alumni Chapter. Brother Munford is also a veteran of the US Air Force, serving 21 years as a Communications and Computer Systems Officer. He received a Bachelor of Business Administration in Computer Information Systems from Howard University, a Master of Arts in Management from Webster University, and a Doctorate in Business Administration in Leadership from Walden University. Brother Munford also has a certificate in Transformational Nonprofit Leadership from the University of Notre Dame and is a Certified Project Management Professional with 30+ years of experience providing strategic management in the areas of operations, human resources, projects and programs, training, and process improvements.

Brother Munford currently serves as the Polemarch of the Bishopville-Manning-Shaw (SC) Alumni. In addition to Polemarch, Brother Munford has previously served as Keeper of Records, Guide Right Coordinator, Kappa League Advisor, and Undergraduate Advisor. He is a hands-on leader who learns quickly, develops expertise, and produces immediate contributions in business operations. During his first year as Polemarch, the Bishopville-Manning-Shaw AFB (SC) Alumni Chapter was recognized as the 2019 Southeastern Province Reclamation and Retention Chapter of the Year (Small Chapter) and subsequently recognized at the 84th Grand Chapter Meeting as Reclamation Chapter of the Year in the same category. In 2021, the chapter was also recognized as Chapter of the Year (Small Chapter). Brother Munford is the founder of Knowledge for College, an organization that combines customized tutoring, test preparation, parent action plans, college admissions counseling services, and college tours into a comprehensive program that helps students achieve their academic goals. In addition, Brother Munford is an ordained minister who serves as the Community Outreach Coordinator and Education Liaison for Bible Outreach Ministries in Sumter, South Carolina. He is married to Dr. Loreli Munford, MD, and they have two children, Dai'Jhana and James Jr.
