DAVID HARRIS President McElderry Park Community Association, Inc.
Resource Center Baltimore, MD
DAVID HARRIS has held the office of president for the McElderry Community Resource Center for nine years. This community has been one of Baltimore's main staples, rich in its residents' deep generational roots. Once a predominantly Black community, business owners with a robust economic base helped sustain B'more back in the day. A cultural shift, with an influx of Hispanic and Latino populations, now characterizes it. As time has passed, the McElderry community has witnessed changes that promote its mission, but no one has seen them heading their way. A significant concern for this community, which is bordered by E. Monument, Patterson, Linwood, and E. Fayette Streets, was once a hub for the residents as they traveled from East Baltimore to West Baltimore, has become a community now in need of economic support from a city that once shared its equitable sustainability. President Harris's shared mission is to raise $100,000,000.00, creating economic equity for this predominantly Black community. The community is collaborating with its elected officials to implement this strategic master plan. Along with such a herculean endeavor for this historic community, President Harris and
Mr. Eugene Brown, Vice President, are united in their vision for the McElderry Community, which was established in 1985. You owe it to yourself to visit this historic East Baltimore community lined with row homes, green space, and a place the residents of East Baltimore call home. The community meets every third Wednesday at 6 p.m. at 611 N. Montford Avenue, Baltimore, MD 21205
