After Turkish Airlines won the tender held by the Directorate General of State Airports Authority (DHMI) for the transfer of the operating rights, excluding air navigation services, of Aydın Çıldır Airport for a period of 20 years via lease, Turkish Flight Training and Airport Operations Inc. was established on June 21, 2012 to operate Aydın Çıldır Airport and to carry out activities for aviation training, sportive and training flights, and passenger transportation with aircraft types suitable for the runway length. The airport, which operates as a part of Turkish Airlines Flight Training Academy, started flight training activities in the first half of 2013 and provides training only for candidate Turkish Airlines pilots.
Turkish Airlines International Investment and Transport Inc. was established on September 25, 2018 as a wholly owned subsidiary of Turkish Airlines to make domestic and international investments as stated in its articles of association, primarily in cargo and courier transport. The company represents Turkish Airlines Group as a 45% shareholder in We World Express, which was established in 2019.
