Turkish Airlines’ Star Alliance membership was a major step in terms of establishing interline and codeshare cooperation with its member airlines. As a result, rapid progress has been achieved in commercial partnerships. Following our Star Alliance membership in 2008, the number of codeshare partnerships increased from 16 to 60 by the end of 2023. According to OAG data, Turkish Airlines boasts the most codeshare partnerships in the world. Additionally, as a result of our many commercial partnerships, passengers can reach additional 244 destinations with a Turkish Airlines flight number, with a single ticket, by checking through to the final destination without collecting their luggage at the transit point - a more convenient and fast way to travel.
Our shareholding structure transformed Turkish Airlines into a leader that leads and
drives the aviation industry. Our collaborations, such as being a member of Star Alliance, continue to expand and increase. In 2008, Turkish Airlines became a member of Star Alliance, the global airline alliance with the highest share in terms of available seat kilometers (ASK). With its 26 members, Star Alliance offers more than 10,000 daily flights to nearly 1,200 airports in 184 countries and access to more than 1,000 lounges around the world.
