Turkish Airlines has been represented in committees that are active in the decision-making activities and management of Star Alliance, of which it has been a member since 2008. This strategic role has increased over the years with the expanding flight network. Turkish Airlines currently ranks second among all Star Alliance member airlines in terms of available seat kilometers (ASK).
As an IATA member, Turkish Airlines is also a member of AACO (Arab Air Carriers’ Organization) as of June 13, 2011; ALTA (Latin American and Caribbean Air Transport Association) as of June 2012; and AIRE (Airlines International Representation in Europe) as of 2017. Turkish Airlines closely monitors aviation developments.
