The Istanbul Airport project was completed in a short period of 42 months, covering the entire construction, operational
preparation, training, trial operations, and relocation
processes. This mega project has taken its place in aviation history as Türkiye’s largest infrastructure investment ever undertaken in a single project. Istanbul Airport will have an annual passenger capacity of approximately 200 million passengers when all phases are completed. The facility was inaugurated as the new hub of Turkish Airlines on October 29, 2018 with a grand ceremony hosted by Türkiye’s President.
