The IATA General Assembly was hosted by Turkish Airlines for the first time in Türkiye on June 2-3. TGS Ground Services Inc. was established on August 26 as a 50:50 joint venture between Turkish Airlines and Havas Ground Handling Co. On October 10, Turkish Technic Inc. signed a joint venture agreement with the US company Pratt & Whitney, one of the world’s leading engine and engine parts manufacturers, to establish a large-scale engine maintenance center.
Following the signing ceremony on April 1, 2008, Turkish Airlines became the 20 th member of Star Alliance.
AnadoluJet started flights on April 23, 2008.
