In 2003, Turkish Airlines flew to only 77 international destinations. Since then, Turkish Airlines has grown rapidly in the world’s busiest flight routes in line with its strategy to become a global airline by capitalizing on Istanbul’s geographic location, a natural transfer point between East and West. The year 2012 saw the most new international destinations launched in a single year. Thirty-two new international destinations were added to the network, and Turkish Airlines became the airline that flies to the most countries in the world.
