As of 2019, the new generation competitive Boeing 787-9 and Airbus A350 wide-body fleet has spurred growth in long- haul intercontinental routes once again. A total of 16 destinations in the Americas and Asia & Far East regions, including eight long-haul destinations such as Bali in Indonesia, Mexico City and Cancun in Mexico, and Vancouver in Canada, have joined the flight network. During this period, Newark, Dallas, and Seattle routes were opened in the USA, increasing the total number of destinations in the USA to 12. Turkish Airlines has achieved major expansions with its effective network and marketing strategies. Since 2012, Turkish Airlines has been the airline that files to the most countries in the world. That year, Turkish Airlines launched flights to 32 new international destinations – the most ever in a single year. Turkish Airlines has held this title for more than ten years. Today, Turkish Airlines is a global brand with its organic growth strategies and the world’s strongest network structure: 345 destinations in 129 countries and 340 cities. In 2023, on the 90th anniversary of its establishment, Turkish Airlines hosted its one billionth passenger.
