As a pioneer in the aviation industry and with a sense of environmental responsibility, Turkish Airlines started offering passengers packaged headphones and blankets in bioplastic bags. These special bags comply with the “TS EN 13432 Packaging- Requirements for Packaging Recoverable through Composting and Biodegradation”
standard and are naturally biodegradable compared to conventional plastic. International mobile data service was introduced on 88 wide-body aircraft.
2018
With the first A321neo aircraft to join the Turkish Airlines fleet, the most advanced entertainment system of the time was introduced to passengers. 3D in-flight maps were offered to passengers for the first time within the in-flight entertainment system. On international flights, child passengers were presented with toys with the “My Toy from Nature” concept. These special toys are made of natural materials and include animated, shape-changing animal figures that are under threat of extinction. Baby sets were provided to infant passengers on long-haul flights between 2018 and 2020.
