• Boys must be clean shaven at all times. • For cultural and other reasons, there may be some exceptions. The Deputy Principal – Student Care will be the final arbiter of these decisions and any others relating to hair and personal appearance. Note: Whenever boys are involved with school activities during school holidays – e.g. tours and training campus – the school rules apply. Therefore, they must be clean shaven on these occasions. Managing conduct The emphasis at College is on restorative practice, positive education, supervision, and the modification of negative behaviour, rather than on punishment as the first resort. Nevertheless, on occasion it may be necessary to impose sanctions for poor conduct. Current College sanctions include • Tuesday detentions are for non-academic offences and Thursday detentions are for academic offences • Internal and external suspension (issued by the Deputy Principal– Student Care) • Withdrawal from College for very serious offences and continual disobedience (governed by the Executive Principal) Housemasters have their own sanctions for poor conduct in the House, which may include jobs, House fatigues and gating (for boarders only).
