DERG WATER TREATMENT WORKS
PRECAST CONCRETE BLOCKS Multicrete Precast Concrete Ltd supplied ready-mix concrete and precast Lego/Kelly Blocks to main contractor Lowry Building & Civil Engineering Ltd for the Derg Water Treatment Works project. The blocks come with a certified lifting loop, offer quick and easy installation and are durable and long-lasting. Great communication with the main contractor’s onsite and office-based teams made the partnership a productive one. CIVIL, STRUCTURAL & PRINCIPAL DESIGN McAdam was contracted by Lowry Building & Civil Engineering to provide civil and structural design and principal design for the Derg Water Treatment Works project. While coordinating the design across its own staff, clients and MEICA designers within a constrained site proved a challenge, using Revit and BIM 360 helped McAdam overcome any barriers to efficiently delivering its services. Neal Kerr, Director of McAdam said, “McAdam was delighted to be involved in this project which helps deliver a resilient water supply to this region. This project adds to our portfolio of water treatment works delivered over the past 60 years.” McAdam is one of the largest independent multi-disciplinary consultancies working in Northern Ireland and the Republic of Ireland, with offices in Belfast and Cork. Established in 1963 with a focus on civil engineering projects, architecture was added as a discipline in 1975. It was the first consultancy in NI to achieve simultaneous certification for ISO 9001 Quality Assurance, ISO 14001 Environmental Management & ISO 45001 Health & Safety.
