1965 The wholesale part of the business was started from storage at the rear of the retail hardware shop. First brands/products were UHU glue, Topps Furniture Polish, Ship Household Matches, Weissenfel chain, Bar-I-pac and also some fancy goods.
1942 Sam Martin joined his father Edward in the business.
1973 Land and dwelling purchased at Drumsaragh, Kilrea. Subsequently warehouse built and wholesale business moved to there.
1927 Property across the street (The Royal Arcade) was purchased and the hardware business moved there.
John Stewart was the first sales rep. selling goods from his car.
1924 Edward Martin began hardware business, renting premises 31-33 Maghera Street, Kilrea.
1939 31-33 Maghera Street purchased. These premises were requisitioned by the army during the war and used as a canteen.
1972 Premises on both sides of Maghera Street damaged by a car bomb but business carried on. Living accommodation above hardware shop uninhabitable.
1945 After the war, 31-33 Maghera Street started trading as a second shop selling fancy goods and toys.
