NEW GATE ARTS & CULTURE CENTRE, DERRY/LONDONDERRY
STEELWORK
EXTERNAL INSULATED RENDER SYSTEMS MJ Fox Contracts deployed over 15 years of industry know- how to install a Weber EPS exterior insulated render system at the newly refurbished New Gate Arts & Culture Hub in Londonderry. Finished in white silicon render, the 100mm-thick mineral fibre insulation system was applied to the exposed gable walls. “While relatively straightforward, the uneven surface of the original brick wall meant that we had to be extra skilful in the application of installing the insulated board,” said Martin Fox. MJ Fox Contracts is an approved applicator for all Weber External Wall Insulation (EWI) render systems. Weber EWI systems are proven to be the most efficient and effective solid wall insulation method. This type of insulation is lightweight, non-toxic and completely recyclable. What’s more, this is a very durable system so it will perform for the lifetime of the building. MJ Fox Contracts is based in Cookstown, and has completed projects throughout the UK and Ireland.
A leading supplier of structural steel and roofing systems in the north west of Ireland, Henry McGinley & Sons Ltd brought its expertise to the New Gate project.
