SPA SAFETY • Guests must be 16 years of age or older to use the Spa. • It is recommended that usage be limited to 10-15 minutes. RESPECT OTHERS • All guests must obey the instructions of the aquatics staff • Guests experiencing the following are not permitted in the water: open sores, infections or diarrhea • Swim diapers are required for all individuals not toilet trained. Youth sizes are available for purchase at the Front Desk. • Swimsuits are the only acceptable swim attire. Guests with modesty concerns may wear covering garments that are clean and do not interfere with their safety or the safety of others. LAP POOL RULES • Aquatic staff may test the swimming competency of any swimmer at any time. Aquatic staff reserve the right to restrict non-swimmers’ use of deep water. • Breath holding is not permitted. • Fitness and aerobic equipment may only be used by guests 18 years of age or older. Children may only use equipment for its intended use and with direct adult supervision. Please return all equipment to the proper storage area. • Diving blocks are not permitted for general use. • The Lap Pool is for lap swimming and aerobic activities only. Please refer to the lap pool schedule for specific lane availability. Additional information and rules are posted in the pool areas. Class slots are on a first-come, first serve basis. Class capacities are determined by the equipment used, available space, and patron safety. You may sign in for a class 15 minutes beforehand but no later than 10 minutes after the class starts. Adult Fitness Swimming Chris Paolini

This class is ideal for fitness swimmers including triathletes, masters, and ex-competitive swimmers. The organized practice sessions are frequently interval workouts, which include kicks, pulls, stroke improvement drills, and a main set. Three lanes allow for a wide range of abilities, however, participants must be able to swim 12 lengths of the pool freestyle without stopping. Some coaching is provided, but the class is not for beginners. Water Safety Instructor Virginia Tuttle

The WSI course provides instructor candidates the necessary skills to teach the American Red Cross (ARC) Parent and Child Program, 3 levels of Preschool Aquatics, 6 levels of the Learn-to-Swim program, Longfellow’s Whales Tales, and Basic Water Rescue. Water Safety Instructor includes Fundamentals of Instructor Training (FIT). Prerequisites: 1. Minimum age of 16 at the end of the class (proof of age must be brought to the first class). 2. Successfully complete 25 yards of the following six strokes: freestyle, backstroke, breaststroke, elementary backstroke, sidestroke, and butterfly. 3. Demonstrate ability to float and tread water for one minute in deep water. 4. Successfully complete the online session for the Water Safety Instructor course. Once registered, an email will follow with a link that allows you to complete the online session. This additional, non- refundable $40.00 fee is paid directly to the American Red Cross. 5.
