AMERICAN RED CROSS COURSES

FALL EVENTS

CPR/AED and First Aid Recreation Services Staff

Pooch Pond Mark your calendar for this year’s dog swim. This event is open to residents of Dublin and their guests. Each dog attending must have an adult (18 years or older) with them at all times. You must be in control of your dog at all times. Any dog that is aggressive towards other dogs or people will be asked to leave and will not receive a refund. Leashes must be removed when dogs are the water. Spectators are free and welcome to enjoy this howling good time.

This course follows the strict guidelines of the American Red Cross. Our instructors are required to follow these guidelines at all times. This class is taught as a blended learning course, in which the participant completes part of the course prior to attending the first day of class. A link to the online portion of the class is emailed one week prior to class and the estimated completion time is three hours. Proof of completion of the online course must be turned in to Kate Futty (kfutty@dublin. oh.us) no later than the first day of class. The purpose of the American Red Cross CPR/AED for Professional Rescuers and Health Care Providers course is to teach those with a duty to act (professional rescuers and health care providers) the knowledge and skills needed to respond appropriately to breathing and cardiac emergencies. This includes the use of an automated external defibrillator (AED) to care for a victim experiencing cardiac arrest. This course also teaches skills participants need to know to give immediate care to a suddenly injured or ill person until more advanced medical personnel arrive and take over.
