must be declared upon religion. Our task is to destroy all kinds of religion, all kinds of morality. Comrade Solz, a high Soviet official, proclaims: Faith in God, whether it be Jewish or Christian, only weakens the will of men for the fight. All gods are the same poison. War without quarter should be declared upon all. “ B e T hou P repared , Y ea , P repare T hyself ” ' (E zek . 38 :7 ). But the God o f Israel fights fair, even with His most arrogant foes. He gives due warning. “ A fight to the death,” says Lounatcharski. “ War without quarter,” says Comrade Solz. “ Very well,” replies Israel’s God. “ Since it is to be so, ‘be thou prepared, yea, prepare thyself, thou, and all thy companies that are assembled unto thee, and be thou a commander [margin] unto them.’ ” Gog accepts the chal lenge! He answers with a new “ Five-Year Program!” His first step is psychological. Devilish hatred for God must be instilled deeper than ever into the Russian mind. Strictest censorship forbids the Russian any touch with the world beyond. Darkness must remain darkness. A sane, balanced Christian, Hessel Tiltman, editor of Answers (England), after his return from a 2,500 mile tour through Russia, wrote:

The Ages-Old Enmity

M . I J L will put enmity between thee and the woman, and between thy seed and her seed” (Gen. 3 :15 ). Thus spake the eternal God to Satan incarnate in Eden. Blind indeed must be the man who cannot see this ages-old enmity increasing in fervor with every passing day. It is a matter o f prophecy that the intensity of the enmity will reach its climax in the closing hours o f the age: “ Woe for the earth and for the sea: because the devil is gone down unto you, having great wrath, knowing that he hath but a short time. And when the dragon saw that he was cast down to the earth, he persecuted the woman that brought forth the man child” (Rev. 12 :12, 13, R. V .). Hearing an ominous rattling o f chains in the heavens, Satan, mad with rage, vents all the spleen of his damnable hatred against all that is called God, or that is related to Him. Nothing less than this “ great wrath” is back of Gog’s blasphemous program that aims to banish from Russia the God o f Abraham, and all other gods, within the next five years. A fter Russia, then from the earth! • T he M anifestation of the E nm ity Several years ago, on the front page o f a Soviet organ in Moscow, a cartoon depicted a Russian workman, with

rolled-up sleeves and holding a huge sledge, about to ascend a lad der into the sky. Underneath was printed: “ I have already smashed our earthly thrones. I am going up to shatter the throne of God.” (One cannot help but wonder if his ladder is not a little short!) Zino- vieff, an apostate Jew, “ one o f the master minds among the Bolshe viks,” boasts: “ We will grapple with the Lord God in due season. We will van quish Him in His highest heaven, and wherever He seeks refuge; and we shall subdue Him forever.”

No lie is too despicable, no insult too coarse, to hurl at Christ and His followers. If I were a Christian ... in Russia, I should keep my eyes 1 turned to the pavements to escape those blasphemous pictures on the boardings which are a continued re minder of the grand attempt to sabotage God. This “ drive” against religion is supported by continuous propaganda. From end to end, Rus sia is plastered with posters which depict “Mr. God” as a funny little man smoking a pipe and smiling complacently, while the workers groan beneath the weight of a gold cross. Blasphemy has no meaning in Russia. The attention o f the House of

I n view o f the most significant events hap pening even as the accompanying install ment o f this series o f articles was being written, especially in the land of Gomer (Germany), where Adolf Hitler, strongly anticommunistic and as strongly pro-Fascist, has been elevated to the chancellorship, Dr. Bauman is extending these articles into another issue. In his article a month ago, he said that when the time comes, “ Germany will march with Gog." In view of. present events, this statement may be challenged. Dr. Bauman will discuss it. Also, in the next and concluding article, he will discuss the sig nificance, if any, o f the date that Russia has set for Godfs departure from the land of Gog —19371

Incidentally, it might be well to inform these Bolshe viks that, if they run short on gasoline in their mad attempt to drive their warplanes into the “ highest heaven,” they need not w orry! God has promised to accommodate them by coming down for the grapple! Lounatcharski, Commissar of Education, issued this proclamation: We hate Christians. Even the best of them must be regarded as our worst enemies. They preach love to one’s neighbor and pity, which is contrary to our principles. Christian love is a hindrance to the development o f the revolution. Down with love for one’s neighbor, what we want is hatred. We must know how to hate, for only at this price can we conquer the universe. We have done with kings o f the earth; let us deal now with the kings of the skies. All religions are poison. They intoxicate and deaden the mind, the will, and the conscience. A fight to the death

Commons was recently called to the fact that there were being sold extensively in British emporiums, boxes o f matches made in Russia, named “ Jesus Christ Matches.” A London newspaper pictures one of these boxes, bearing the inscription, “ Jesus Christ Safety Matches.” In that illustration, the Lord Jesus is represented as hanging from the cross for our “ safety.” This is not the first time that the adversaries o f our blessed Redeemer have swaggered before His cross, mocking at the divine promise o f “ safety” through His atoning work (cf. Matt. 27:39-43). Thus the offensive propaganda o f Gog to degrade the Lord of glory, especially in His sacrificial work, is entering into other lands. And in the light of such profanations as this, and other blasphemies involving the names of the Father, the Son, and the Holy Ghost—profanations too utterly
