Anticipation is building across Northern Ireland’s construction sector as the Federation of Master Builders (FMB) prepares to host the 2025 Master Builder Awards. Widely regarded as ‘the Oscars of the building industry’, these prestigious awards shine a spotlight on the remarkable achievements of small- and medium-sized building firms, recognising the craftsmanship, innovation and dedication that set the industry’s standard for excellence. HONOURING EXCEPTIONAL CONTRIBUTIONS Taking place at the Malone Lodge Hotel in Belfast on May 23, the event will bring together contractors, supply chain partners and policymakers to honour the exceptional contributions that make the construction industry world class. The awards celebrate not only FMB members but also the dedicated teams, skilled tradespeople and talented apprentices who drive the industry forward. This year’s awards will highlight a range of projects, from pioneering sustainability initiatives and transformative renovations to outstanding new builds and commercial developments. Categories include Outstanding Builder of the Year, Business of the Year, Apprentice

of the Year, Sustainable Building Project, various Renovation Project awards, Kitchen Project, Bathroom Project, New Home, and more. FMB members play a vital role in their local communities, raising industry standards and supporting local projects. The awards provide a platform for sharing best practices, inspiring innovation and encouraging continuous improvement throughout the sector. RECOGNISING APPRENTICES & ESTABLISHED PROFESSIONALS Particularly of value to FMB is recognition of the achievements of apprentices and those who mentor them, with City & Guilds supporting this award for 2025. Angharad Lloyd Beynon, Senior Policy Manager, said, “City & Guilds are proud to sponsor the Apprentice Award at this year’s Master Builders Awards. We believe in recognising and celebrating the incredible talent, dedication and craftsmanship of the next generation. “Apprentices are the future of the construction industry, bringing fresh skills, ideas and energy to the sector. By supporting this award, we’re helping to shine a light on their achievements and encourage more young people to pursue rewarding careers in building and construction.

“It reflects our ongoing commitment to skills development, industry excellence and creating opportunities for others.”
