He set extremely high standards from the start and kept those high standards right the way through. The quality of the finish and the experience and the process of the build has been second to none for us.”
The building has been designed to facilitate future extension with additional classrooms, while the hydrotherapy suite and sports facilities can be accessed via a dedicated entrance and secured to create opportunity for external income generation. To enhance safety,
management plan were implemented to minimise any impact. Prioritising positive engagement with the community, Woodvale Construction was formally thanked by the resident stakeholder group for accommodating its additional request to cut back overgrown trees and hedges. The project also provided significant local employment, delivering 1,197 employment weeks to apprentices, placement students and unemployed individuals from the local community. Aiming for BREEAM Excellent accreditation, the contractor also implemented a variety of sustainable initiatives such as using straw bales wrapped in Terram geotextile fabric to manage runoff on site and rainwater harvesting. Tree surveys were conducted and bat boxes erected on the advice of an ecologist, with wildflower seeds planted
