Henry Brothers Ltd BUILDING A LEGACY OF CONSTRUCTION EXCELLENCE, THE SECOND- GENERATION FAMILY BUSINESS DELIVERS WORLD-CLASS PROJECTS IN THE BLUE LIGHT, COMMERCIAL, DEFENCE, EDUCATION, HEALTHCARE AND INDUSTRIAL SECTORS…
From its roots in Northern Ireland to its ever-expanding presence across England and Scotland, Henry Brothers is a leading construction company with sustainability, innovation and reliability at its core. With a turnover approaching £90m per annum and nearly 200 direct employees, Henry Brothers has built a reputation for delivering world-class projects in the blue light, commercial, defence, education, healthcare and industrial sectors. As a second-generation family business, the ethos instilled by Jim Henry, winner of CEF’s Lifetime Achievement Award in 2023, from its inception – to work hard and get the job done – is very much a part of how it operates today. David Henry, Managing Director at Henry Brothers, said, “My father Jim has always inspired us to act with integrity and dependability, and we are committed to carrying these values with us through everything we do. “We place an emphasis on delivering the best construction solution that we possibly can for every client
without fail, and it is this drive and determination that sets us apart from the competition.” This approach is proving successful – in 2024, Henry Brothers was appointed as the main contractor on the £30m Advanced Manufacturing and Innovation Centre, led by Queen’s University Belfast, in addition to taking the steer on a new £13.5m DVA Test Centre in Mallusk. This growth is further underpinned by the completion of key projects in England, including the £11m Soldiers’ Centre at Alexander Barracks and a new Aircraft Maintenance Facility and training spaces at RAF Lossiemouth. “While the construction industry has had its share of challenges throughout the Covid pandemic and beyond, particularly in attracting and retaining talent, we have a clear vision for the future – one that focuses on investing in our people, strengthening our partnerships, and building smarter, greener, infrastructure that is suitable for generations to come,” said David. “This is where the CEF proves extremely beneficial. From lobbying
for the construction industry to providing our people with insightful courses and seminars, our partnership with the CEF is evidence that we are truly Altogether Stronger.” Henry Brothers has a long association with the CEF, with Jim and David sitting on the Council and David holding the role of president from 2016 to 2018. It was one of the companies to attend the CEF’s first awards ceremony and is now an avid supporter of its annual Safety Reboot campaign and Building Mental Health Alliance. “As our relationship with the CEF continues to flourish, we are thankful for all the support it has offered our business throughout the years,” said David. “A massive congratulations to everyone at the CEF for reaching the 80-year milestone – we look forward to continuing to grow and thrive together.”
