WRC celebrates 50 years of building for the future

William Rogers is the eldest of nine children from a farming family in the foothills of the picturesque mountains of Mourne above the village of Annalong near the Silent Valley Reservoir. After mastering his trade, William became a successful joinery subcontractor. In 1975, William, using his foresight and business acumen, took the decision to establish William Rogers Construction. The first office of William Rogers Construction was at home in Annalong before a relocation to Shaftesbury Square in Belfast in the early 1980s, which served as a base for the growing business for 30 years. Advancements in modern technology and infrastructure then allowed the business to return its base to the Mournes in 2010.

In the early days, William Rogers Construction carried out work for the Northern Ireland Housing Executive throughout Belfast, building many homes and completing many refurbishments. In 2010, the business achieved a major milestone by breaking ground on its first housing development, Sawhill Park in Annalong. A proud

moment for William Rogers Construction, the completed

development became home for 93 families. Then came time for William Rogers to pass on his legacy, with his youngest son Damien taking over the company and reinventing it as WRC. WRC’s mission statement is ‘Inspired by the past, building in the present for future generations’, with the business attributing its success to building partnerships within the

communities in which it operates. Marking its golden anniversary, WRC remains committed to driving innovation and delivering exceptional quality in every project it undertakes. “We are delighted to be celebrating this milestone in 2025, and hope for many more successful years to come for WRC in the future,” said Damien.
