WRC held celebrations to mark its own milestone at the Burrendale Hotel in Newcastle on February 22.

WRC completes projects of all sizes and value, to the highest of standards and within budget, led by the vision, knowledge and skills of Director Damien Rogers. Celebrating its golden anniversary in 2025, WRC was founded by Damien’s father as William Rogers Construction before rebranding when Damien took over leadership of the firm. Over the last 50 years, projects have been delivered for a diverse range of clients from private contracts to churches, councils, health trusts, the Education Authority and Queen’s University Belfast. The second-generation family business has also provided employment opportunities to many people, both local to Mourne area and throughout Northern Ireland.

A dynamic management structure has allowed the business to thrive through volatile and evolving times over the past 50 years. Training and keeping up with industry standards are a fundamental part of its day-to-day success. “We recognise the need for education and opportunities for younger generations within the community and industry, working closely with Southern Regional College and their apprenticeship schemes to support the next

generation,” said Damien. “Over the coming years, we

hope to engage and support the next generation as they help the construction industry flourish. “Within our local community, we enjoy giving back to local charities
