Instructor: Stockton’s Stables Beginning riders will head out to Stockton’s Plum Creek stables for hands-on horsemanship, lessons on horse behavior, grooming, handling, and introduction to riding. Campers focus on safety while building confidence. On Friday, campers participate in horse-related arts and crafts and games back on campus. Landscapes, Urbanscapes, Creatures & Light: DSLR Photography Camp $680/W4: $544 W3: June 23-June 27 Entering Grades: 6 7 8 9 Instructor: Karen Donald Students explore local places around Denver, hiking and capturing the majestic sites or creatures with a DSLR camera. Over the course of the week, students gain experience using the manual settings of the DSLR camera and further developing their skills in our photo lab with post-production techniques in Adobe Lightroom & Photoshop. Students leave camp with printed images to display in their homes. Learn to Rock Climb $1,350 W3: June 23-June 27 Entering Grades: 5 6 7 8 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. W5: July 7-July 11 Entering Grades: 5 6 7 8 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Instructor: Colorado Mountain School 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. W4: June 30-July 3 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Entering Grades: 6 7 8 9 This complete introduction to rock climbing, a five-day camp, takes first-timers or those new to climbing and introduces them to the beautiful sport of rock climbing. Learn to climb like a rock star by building a solid foundation of the knowledge, skills, and movement required to get into the sport. We will cover gear, belaying, rappelling, various types of movement, and following lead climbers. Little Fencers $450 W5: July 7-July 11 Entering Grades: K 1 2 9:00 a.m. - 12:00 p.m. Instructor: Denver Fencing Center Little Fencers Half-day Camp introduces students to the sport of fencing in a safe and fun environment. Fencers use lightweight, plastic equipment specially designed for kids so they can focus on basic fencing knowledge. Little Golfers $385 W1: June 9-June 13 Entering Grades: 1 2 3 Instructor: Beth Folsom Lessons on the links cover etiquette, safety, putting, short game (chipping, pitching), full swing, and strategies for getting around a golf course efficiently. Required: a bag of junior golf clubs, tees, golf balls, collared shirts, and tailored shorts. Hats, sunglasses, sunscreen and water bottles are also encouraged. Geology: It’s Not Just Rocks $485 W1: June 9-June 13 Entering Grades: 5 6 7 8 Instructor: Karma Langer Go on an adventure in county and state parks using and creating topographic maps of watersheds, identifying rocks and the geological past, and dig into soil diversity with a certified Environmental Educator. Hike, nature journal, simulate natural processes through games, and conduct science experiments. This camp rocks! Connect with friends and nature while learning essential outdoor skills from expert guides. Embark on your summer adventure with activities like archery, fishing, paddle boarding, rock climbing, and river hiking. Outdoor recreation is a fantastic way to engage with nature, and Colorado provides endless opportunities to get outside and have fun! Intermediate Golf $595 W2: June 16-June 20 Entering Grades: 4 5 6 7 8 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Instructor: Bob Ulrich Professional golf instruction by PGA teachers: three days on a par-3 course, two days on a nine-hole course. Required: collared shirts and tailored shorts, golf clubs, balls, and tees. Driving range balls provided. Intermediate Rock Climbing $1,350 W6: July 14-July 18 Entering Grades: 6 7 8 9:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m. Instructor: Colorado Mountain School By the end of this five-day camp, campers will be on track to lead their own single-pitch sport climbs at any climbing venue in the world! This is a camp for folks with some previous experience with rock climbing who are energetic about taking their climbing to the next level. This course is packed with climbing mileage and culminates with a mock sport lead climb. We will focus on movement, lead climbing, basic gear for setting anchors and risk management. This is the ideal course with those with outdoor top-rope climbing experience and the interest in becoming a
