ARTS Swansea is a vibrant centre for art and The Glynn Vivian Art Gallery is widely recognised as the city’s premier venue for art exhibitions. All national museums and art galleries in Wales are free to enter, so you can soak up our history and join one of the many trips organised by Swansea University’s Students’ Union. THE TALIESIN ARTS CENTRE The Taliesin Arts Centre sits at the heart of the Singleton Park Campus and hosts regular productions, mainstream and alternative cinema screenings, a restaurant, bar, and the award-winning Egypt Centre, home to a collection of over 5,000 Egyptian antiquities.

SHOPPING Shop big high street names as well as independent boutiques, specialist shops and traditional arcades. You can visit designer boutiques in Mumbles, shop vintage outlets in Uplands or pick up some Welsh produce in Wales’ largest indoor market in the heart of the city.

MUSIC & FESTIVALS Wales is famed as the ‘land of song’ and as a student at Swansea University you won’t be disappointed by the range of music on offer across the city! Swansea boasts a huge variety of music venues and plays host to a number of music festivals and events throughout the year. The brand new Swansea Arena is now open and already has some big names lined up including John Bishop and Kathryn Ryan!

HOME OF DYLAN THOMAS Swansea’s most famous son, Dylan Thomas, said: “Swansea is still the best” and the poet’s legacy can be found throughout the city from cafés to pubs and parks.
