Resource Label Group Acquires Gintzler

Resource Label Group, Franklin,Tennessee, a manu- facturer of pressure sensitive label, shrink sleeve and RFID/NFC products for the packaging industry, has acquired New York-based Gintzler International, a provider of labeling and packaging identification so- lutions to the pharmaceutical, food, beverage, med- ical, health and beauty, automotive, industrial and specialty consumer goods markets. Resource Label is a portfolio company of First At- lantic Capital, Ltd., a private investment firm special- izing in acquiring and growing mid-size companies. Gintzler represents the 10th acquisition since First Atlantic acquired Resource Label. Resource Label now operates thirteen manufacturing facilities throughout the United States and Canada. Loews Buys Consolidated Container For $1.2 Billion Loews Corp. is adding plastic packaging manufac- turer Consolidated Container Co. to its diverse port- folio. The $1.2 billion acquisition of Consolidated is Loew’s first foray into the packaging industry. The conglomerate’s other businesses include hotels, ener- gy and financial services. Atlanta-based Consolidated, which provides packag- ing solutions to customers including Colgate-Palmo- live, Procter & Gamble, and Dean Foods, will become a part of a newly created segment called Loews Pack- aging Group. It is currently owned by Bain Capital Private Equity. The deal is expected to close in the second quarter of 2017, and will be funded with approximately 50 percent cash on hand and 50 percent debt. ProAmpac Acquires Trinity Packaging ProAmpac has acquired Trinity Packaging Corpora- tion, a flexible packaging company specializing in large format packaging for the lawn and garden, food and specialty industrial markets, for an undis- closed amount. The combined company will have 22 manufactur- ing sites and 3,000 employees supplying more than 5,000 customers in 90 countries. ProAmpac and Trini- ty serve a wide variety of end markets including food, pet care, healthcare, lawn care, retail and secure packaging for the transport of cash and valuables. Trinity Packaging will retain its name and become a separate division within ProAmpac.
