Dental Asia speaks with Dr Wong Keng Mun , founder and CEO of Dontia Alliance, about the concept behind an Advanced Implant Strategies (AIS) Centre of Excellence and its vision of a trusted dental eco-system in Asia.

What do patients look for in a dental service provider? For some patients, factors like accessibility, affordability, and convenience rank as priorities, while others might be partial towards customer service or value-added treatments. Underlying all these different traits, Dr Wong Keng Mun believes that trust is what patients are looking for. “For many of our patients, they want to know that their treatment will be safe, predictable, and with a certain degree of assurance of success. If we can create a trusted brand, our patients can be assured of the treatment provided,” said Dr Wong. Founded in 2022 as a solutions-based company, Dontia Alliance is a dental eco- system of dentists and partners across Asia, who are united in upholding the highest standards of care and clinical excellence for patients.
Hong Kong, China and the Philippines, including brands like T32 Dental Group, Canaan Dental Surgery, SmileBay Dental Centre, Dental Implant & Surgical Centre, and Metro Dental. Moreover, auxiliaries in dental labs, supply companies, and education academies, support the network in providing comprehensive opportunities for dental professionals to network, upgrade their expertise and enhance their dental practices — in pursuit of this excellence. Following the launch of the first AIS Centre in June 2024 partnering SmileBay Dental in Penang, Malaysia, Dontia Alliance officially unveiled the second AIS Centre, launched in partnership with T32 Implant Centre in Singapore on 16 Aug 2024, marking another step towards Dontia Alliance’s vision of a trusted dental eco-system in Asia. Through the AIS Centre concept, Dr Wong hopes that this collection of dentists and partners will serve to create a trusted dental network in the region to support patients throughout their lifelong oral health journey.
“With AIS Centres, we aim to create a more equitable dental eco-system for all stakeholders within our network. By leveraging scale and synergy, we can elevate the standards of dentistry in our community, ensuring that high- quality dental solutions are both accessible and affordable,” said Dr Wong. ADVANCED IMPLANT STRATEGIES CENTRE OF EXCELLENCE The AIS Centre was conceived by Dontia Alliance as an accreditation that recognises an implant centre’s commitment towards clinical excellence and patient-centric care. Each centre is distinguished by its capability to provide advanced implant treatments, in-house lab work and training programmes for dental professionals, as part of its internal operation. The new AIS Centre in Singapore consists of several specialised venues that are equipped to provide this integration of services.
