Meet the Team
Name: Steph aka Chefanie Role: Kitchen Manager
Steph has been the kitchen manager at Burpengary Manor for 2 years. Prior to this she was a chef and kitchen manager at Mckenzie Aged Care & Bolton Clarke. She has been a chef for 20 years and been working in aged care for 12 years. She enjoys creating a fun environment for her staff as she believes this then flows into the food and presentation of the meals for the residents. What she enjoys most about her role is meeting with residents to try and ensure the enjoy their meals and advocating for her staff and residents. She is always trying to ensure that “aged care food’ is more than just slop on a plate and believes it is a privilege to be cooking and providing quality and nutritious meals for our aged community. She also enjoys working closely with the clinical team and local suppliers and specialists to ensure residents get the best they possibly can. Steph is excited for the year ahead of the BM Kitchen with the kitchen team becoming stronger and better and more consistent every day and seeing what new things they can achieve together as a team. Name: Manpreet Role: 2IC Cook Manpreet was a member of Burpengary Manor before doing a short stint at Strathpine aged care and then coming back to Burpengary Manor where she has been placed as 2IC in the kitchen. Manpreet loves cooking for her residents and teasing and having fun with her teammates. In her spare time, she enjoys scrolling reels and enjoying a nice cup of tea and biscuits. She would love to be able to travel more between Australia and India over and over again and says she loves learning new skills and secret cooking tips from her manager. Name: Khate aka Little Chef Role: Cook What I enjoy most about my role is the people themselves within the facility, especially the kitchen team as we always have good vibes and smash the work out. In my spare time I enjoy talking with my colleagues, friends and family, chilling outside or sitting inside watching videos. If I could travel anywhere in the world it would be Santorini, Greece. My comfort food is sushi or any type of Japanese or Korean Name: Xajay aka CJ Role: Cook I have been at Burpengary Manor for almost 2 years, What he enjoys most about his role is cooking delicious and nutritious meals for the residents. We have fun everyday at work with the team and always keen to learn new skills. If I could go anywhere in the world, it would be Antarctica because I think penguins are adorable. In my spare time I like to watch anime, go fishing and sleep.
