Community Happenings Summer
Bus Trips and Ice Cream Summer at Burpengary Manor meant bus trips, and plenty of them. Redcliffe, Scarborough, and beyond, with scenic views, fresh air, and ice cream treats along the way. The ice cream cart also made a very popular visit to the manor itself, which as always brought out the biggest smiles. Simple pleasures really are the best.
Building Our Second Greenhouse One of the highlights of the summer was coming together as a team to assemble our second greenhouse. Working side by side, everyone pitching in, and then standing back to look at what we had built together. That kind of shared achievement is something you cannot put a price on. Australia Day We celebrated Australia Day in proper style with an Aussie-themed morning tea, a wonderful armchair travel journey around some of our most iconic destinations, and fun interactive games that had plenty of laughter echoing through the home. A day full of pride, memories, and good company. Waitangi Day and the Great Pavlova Debate We marked Waitangi Day with New Zealand food in the café, a fantastic live concert with a haka demonstration that had everyone captivated, and an armchair travel session exploring New Zealand together. And then came the question that divided the room: who invented the pavlova? New Zealand or Australia? The debate is very much ongoing and we suspect it always will be!
