Community Happenings Summer
The Holmwood Open Melbourne had the Australian Open, and we had the Holmwood Open! Our table tennis tournament was an absolute hit, with singles, doubles, staff versus residents, and co-op matches keeping everyone entertained. Those not playing took on the very important role of chair umpire. It was competitive, fun, and had the whole home buzzing. Summer Baking January had us in the kitchen sharing recipes and culinary skills, and the results were delicious. We made scones with jam and cream and baked the most wonderfully moist and sweet citrus cakes. There is something so lovely about baking together, and the smells coming from the kitchen alone were worth celebrating.
The Snooker Tournament Our very first Snooker Tournament was a smash hit and we have not stopped talking about it since! Whether you were there to play, to watch, or simply to enjoy the refreshments, it was a wonderful night. Monday pool nights are now a weekly fixture, and lessons with the lifestyle team are apparently very much in demand!
